Ralph Shelby Webb
"One shows him when he was a sailor in the Navy, during World War II. The other shows him as he appeared in maybe 1950. He was my teacher in the fourth grade, and then again in the sixth grade. He had lost a bit of hair by that time. Shelby joked that, "I slept on a rubber pillow a few nights and it erased my hair!" I never had any teacher who I regarded with more respect and love than Shelby Webb. A great person...
Another photo shows him with a group of five students on what I think may be Neville Street in Beckley, WV. Judging from their clothing and appearance, I would guess the time period to be the early 70's. One of the students looks like Clyde Stepp, who later became the last principal of MFHS."
