Judy Bonds, of Coal River Mountain Watch organized this event in an effort to save Marsh Fork High School at the end of the 2003 school term. Many loyal students came and camped there, hoping to save their school. At dusk we got together in a circle with lighted candles, prayed and sang. (I know I have forgotten the exact words, but it is something like this.)

"Cheer, Cheer for old Marsh Fork High,
Wake up the echoes she's passing by,
Shake Down the thunder from the sky,
Whether our honors be great or small,
Now Marsh Fork High will win after all,
While her loyal boys go marching,
Onward to victory."
